PURPOSE

1.        

CYMBALS/ MANDIRA

·       Mandira is a pair of small bell-shaped cymbals.

·       Mandira is used especially by the bauls as well as an accompaniment for kirtan singing.

·       Sometimes mandira is played with dance performance.

2.        

DAFLI

·       Dafli is a membranophonic instrument.

·       Dafli is basically used to accompany folk songs, bhajans etc.

3.        

GUITAR

·       Guitar is a fretted musical instrument.

·       Guitar is played with different songs like Rabindra sangeet, bollywood songs, rock music and Bengali modern songs.

·       Now a day’s guitar is used to accompany guitar solo recitals.

4.        

HARMONIUM

·       Harmonium is an aero phonic instrument.

·       It is extensively used to accompany folk, classical, semi classical music.

·       It is also used to accompany classical dance performances.

5.        

MARACAS

·       Maracas is also known as shakers, are a hand percussion instrument usually played in pairs.

·       Musicians use maracas to keep the beat while singing.

6.        

TABLA

·       Tabla falls under the percussion category of Instruments.

·       Tabla is most frequently used to accompany vocal and instrumental music.

·       Tabla is used to accompany various dance performances.

7.        

TANPURA

·       Tanpura is a stringed instrument.

·       Tanpura is considered to be the perfect accompaniment for vocal practice.

8.        

UKULELE

·       Ukulele is a member of the lute family of instruments.

·       Ukulele is used to play chords of songs on it.

·        Basically, it is played with most of light songs.
